Kenya's government and the World Bank review progress on their digital acceleration project, targeting last-mile internet and school digitisation.

Principal Secretaries John Tanui (ICT) and Stephen Isaboke (Telecommunications) met with World Bank representatives to assess the progress of the Kenya Digital Economy Acceleration Project (KDEAP).

The review prioritised expanding last-mile digital infrastructure, increasing citizen access to digital e-government services, and providing economic opportunities to underserved communities.

For Nairobi's tech ecosystem, KDEAP’s focus on last-mile connectivity and school digitisation is a vital long-term market enabler.

By training tens of thousands of teachers and deploying digital curricula, the state is actively seeding a future generation of tech-literate consumers and developers.

Furthermore, expanding public digital infrastructure to underserved regions directly reduces the market expansion and customer acquisition costs (CAC) for private startups attempting to scale beyond Kenya's urban hubs.
